2014 – 2019 Paintings
My project is broadly feminist. I am using my own experience of sexuality, vitality, gender and relationship to create images, which reflect my experience and perhaps challenge existing notions of picture making.
These paintings are inspired by both the lived body and the natural world.
They embody feeling states, internal sensations and my consideration of the forms and forces of the natural world around me.
The forces of attraction, gravity and germination particularly interest me.
I am particularly interested in the borders between abstraction and figuration, form and space and colour and texture.
